About Our Initiative

We Make It Easy to Help Others

Beginning in 2015 in memorial of Richard S. Marks, Marks Backpacks has been working hard with the help of our donors to provide assistance to individuals in need. Our work is dedicated to providing the homeless of Washington, D.C. with essential winter supplies and hygiene items, and we strive to inspire and improve the lives of those who would benefit from a helping hand. Our Vision and Mission

Our volunteers work deliberately towards supplying individuals with crucial seasonal and hygiene items.  It is our belief that no matter what stage of life an individual may be in, or the way in which they came to be in this position, that they still deserve warmth, compassion, and comfort.  We aim to provide those things to the individuals we come across during our delivery process.

Our Causes

Donations

Consider making a monetary donation so that we are able to purchase hygiene items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.

Clothes Donation

Clothing Drive

Contact us to schedule a drop off or pick up of gently used or new items, such as: sweatshirts, socks, shirts, jackets, coats.
